The Jane Stern Dorado Community Library (JSDCL) has become one of the most trusted and impactful community libraries in Puerto Rico, offering essential educational programs and social services to families across the island. Our programs are entirely free of charge, with a focus on closing educational gaps and ensuring equal access for all, regardless of socio-economic status.
JSDCL plays a crucial role in supporting the local public education system, supplementing the limited resources available to many elementary schools across Puerto Rico. Numerous public schools lack libraries and after-school programs that foster the intellectual and personal growth of young students. The absence of free public Wi-Fi also continues to hinder access to essential digital tools for students and educators.
In response, we serve as a vital resource to teachers in multiple regions, offering reliable internet access, printing services for classroom materials and satellite libraries within schools and other community spaces.

The Jane Stern Dorado Community Library, tax identification number 66-0360258, is a private nonprofit institution registered as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and certified under section 1101.01 PR(a)(2).
Your contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable laws. Upon receiving donations, we promptly issue the necessary certification for tax-exempt purposes, ensuring your contribution is properly documented.
JSDCL is also listed as an entity of the Comisión Especial Conjunta de Fondos Legislativos para Impacto Comunitario (CECFL), dedicated to the eradication of child poverty.
